Auditorium di Milano Fondazione Cariplo
Symphonic season
Programme Duration: 60 minutes
Giacomo Puccini Gianni Schicchi (concert version)

Since its American debut in 1918, Gianni Schicchi, one of Giacomo Puccini's most original masterpieces, has never stopped showing to all the international audencies its musical and theatrical vitality, performed by the ironic irriverence of the protagonist or by the genuine sweetness of his daughter Lauretta, wonderfully exemplified by the aria “O mio babbino caro”. After almost one hundred years of life, this little treasure of the late italian operatic returns to stage, in a concert version, with the Symphonic Orchestra of Milan Giuseppe Verdi, led by the american conductor John Axelrod, and the voices of the School of Opera of the Teatro Comunale of Bologna.

laVerdi dedicates the execution and part of the collection of the tickets on Thursday 18 May to the Lombardy AIRC Committee (Cancer Care Italian Association) thanks to a collaboration with the University of Milan Bicocca.
