Programme
Ludwig van Beethoven Inno alla Gioia
Johannes Brahms Piano Concerto n. 2 in B flat major op. 83
Felix Mendelssohn Symphony n. 4 in A major op. 90 "Italian"

1833. In the same year in which Felix Mendelssohn was performing his famous Italian Symphony no. 4 in London for the first time, a reassuring masterpiece of symphonic Romanticism, Johannes Brahms was born in Hamburg, a genius who would base his musical development precisely on that Romanticism until the beginning of the twentieth century. In one single stroke, Claus Peter Flor will create a dialogue between two periods, two faces, and two distinct sensitivities of nineteenth century Germany to enhance their unique features and unexpected similarities.
