Antonin Dvořàk Cello Concerto in B minor op. 104
Igor Stravinskij Le Sacre du Printemps

LaVerdi’s Season is drawing to a close and will conclude its journey through the European 1800s with two paradigmatic masterpieces, each revolutionary in their own way: first, Dvořák, who, with his “Ninth” From the New World, took nineteenth-century Symphony overseas and thus broke down the barriers of musical Europe. And secondly, Stravinskij’s Le Sacre du Printemps, a historical milestone that annihilated the previous tradition and assertively sanctioned the advent of the 20th century.
