Modest Musorgskij Pictures at an Exhibition (orch. Ravel)

On the one hand, a Russia looking towards Europe and America and embracing its twentieth-century experimentations; on the other, an archaic Russia, still linked to the world of folklore and popular tradition, in an extreme attempt to protect its identity from Western contaminations. Claus Peter Flor, laVerdi’s Musical Director, will step on the podium of the Auditorium di Milano to compare these two souls of the Russian world by means of two outstanding masterpieces by Rachmaninov and Musorgskij.
