Programme
Carl Maria von Weber Ouverture from "Der Freisch├╝tz"
Robert Schumann Cello Concerto in A minor op. 129
Aldo Finzi "Nunquam" Sinfonia Romana
Ottorino Respighi "Pini di Roma"

Music does not describe Nature, but rather creates it, imagines it, and transforms it. This is the case in the four masterpieces that Jader Bignamini has chosen to depict the world of pine trees and their forests in between the 19th and 20th centuries. From Respighi and Finzi’s Mediterranean warmth to Weber and Schumann’s Romantic forests: different points of view, often distant in time and far-away in space, which explore and decompose Nature to recreate their world within it.
