Robert Trevino, who rose to prominence as one of the youngest and most sensitive American conductors of our day, shall come back to laVerdi’s podium with the Symphony that more than any other has been able to voice the contrasts, passions, and transformations of the 20th century: Šostakovič’s Seventh (1941), gone down in history with the name of the symbolic city in Russia besieged by the Nazis: Leningrad.
