Colombo aesthetic conductor - 04/12/2007
for the "gigione" Ciajkovskij

from il Corriere della Sera, page 18

Light, air, wind, white snow, Christmas sparks: maybe the dream of Clara, told in the second act of "Schiaccianoci" of Ciajkovsij, or maybe all the music and our lifes.

In this ciajkovskijan concert, conducted on Friday by Francesco Maria Colombo on the podium of the Verdi Orchestra, the final act of the ballett,  the ouverture "Romeo and Juliet" and the Rococò Variations, shined of an unreal brightness.

Colombo conducted the concert by memory, as few people does, it seems that he was born on podium, as his gesticulation is so expressive and natural. His temperament is the one of an aesthetic and charmeur person; shining, precise, rigorous and showy.

The cello player Steven Isserlis couldn't perform the concert for familiar reason; we wish him all the good. In Rococò Variations, he has been substituted by Wen-Sinn Yang, at his debut in Milan, he was strong and bold… he seems to be like an Hoffmann character, is he?
