Kate Aldrich is rapidly earning international recognition as a very important artist and has been heard at leading theaters throughout the world including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Salzburg Festival, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, the Hamburg State Opera, Teatro Regio of Torino, Los Angeles Opera, L'Opera de Montreal, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Duesseldorf, Teatro Sao Carlos in Lisbon, New York City Opera, and many more.  During the 2006/2007 Ms Aldrich has made important debuts at the San Francisco Opera as Carmen, at the Metropolitan Opera as Maddalena in Rigoletto and then at the 2007 Salzburg Festival as Ascanio in the new production of Berlioz's Benvenuto Cellini under Valery Gergiev.
 Kate Aldrich begins the 2007/2008 season singing Dame Edith Smyth's opera The Wrecker's with the American Symphony Orchestra.  She returns to Montpellier for her debut in Rossini's of La cenerentola and will make her debut with the San Diego Opera as of Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda for San Diego Opera. She will return to the Teatro Regio in Torino as Orsini in Lucrezia Borgia and then makes her debut at the Theatre du Capitole as Giulietta in Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann.
 In addition to her debuts at the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera and Salzburg Festival, Kate Aldrich was also heard in the 2006/2007 season in her first performances of Sesto in La clemenza di Tito in a new production at the National Theatre in Prague.    She also returned to Montpellier for Zemlinsky's Eine Florentinische Tragoedie and to the Sao Carlos in Lisbon for her first Isabella in Rossini's L'italiana in Algeri.  She appeared in Tokyo in July of 2007 as Dulcinee in Don Quichotte, now available in DVD.
Future engagements for Ms. Aldrich include her debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Carmen in 2009 where she will also star as Adriano in  a new production of  Rienzi, the title role in Marseille's production of Ernest Reyer's Salammbo, Orsini in Lucrezia Borgia for the Washington Opera.  She will also return to the Metropolitan Opera as Carmen and make her debut at the Gran Teatro del Liceo in the same role as Carmen opposite Rolando Villazon.
Born in Maine, Aldrich made her professional debut as Preziosilla in La forza del destino at the Arena di Verona in 2000 and returned there the following season as Fenena in Nabucco. She was then selected by legendary stage director Franco Zeffirelli to sing Amneris in a new production of Verdi's Aida which was performed first at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Bussetto on the commemoration of the centennial of the composer's death.  The production was also performed in Modena, Rome, Naples, Florence, Milan, Piacenza and Ravenna and was filmed for DVD.  Aldrich made her Los Angeles Opera debut in 2002 as Fenena  as well as her German debut at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Duesseldorf as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia.
Aldrich opened the 2003/2004 Los Angeles Opera season in the world premiere of Deborah Drattel's Nicholas and Alexandra conducted by Mtislav Rostropovich.  In 2004 she sang her first Idamante in the company's staging of Mozart's Idomeneo opposite Placido Domingo.  She also returned to Duesseldorf as Nerone in Christoph Loy's new production of L'incoronazione di Poppea.  2005 was a year marked by several important debuts; Aldrich sang her first Charlotte in Werther opposite Roberto Alagna at the Teatro Regio di Torino (the production was recorded for commercial DVD); the title role in the revival of Mariotte's opera Salome at L'Opera de Montpellier (also recorded for commercial CD), Adalgisa in Norma for L'Opera de Montreal, Dulcinee in Massenet's Don Quichotte at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, and the title role in the Hamburg State Opera's new production of Handel's Giulio Cesare.  In 2005 Aldrich also returned to Carnegie Hall in Opera Orchestra's performance of Thomas's Mignon, and she made her Carnegie Hall debut with Opera Orchestra of New York the previous season as Smeton in Anna Bolena.  Ms. Aldrich was awarded Opera Orchestra of New York's prestigious Vidda Award and was presented by OONY in a solo recital debut taking place at Weil Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall in March, 2006.  Aldrich made her San Francisco Symphony Debut in June of 2006 in Zemlinsky's Eine Florentinische Tragoedie under James Conlon, and also made her New York stage debut as Carmen at the New York City Opera, a role that she had performed recently with Portland Opera where Opera News declared that "Kate Aldrich has all the elements of the Carmen package- movie-star beauty, dancer body and sensational voice- in a combo with "star" stamped all over it. Her Carmen was alluring, moody, free-spirited and temperamental without physical or vocal vulgarity.  With Aldrich's full and unforced chest voice, it was a pleasure to hear Carmen's music sung with even and velvety richness throughout the range...."
Kate Aldrich has also performed several Handel roles with the Caramoor Music Festival including the title role in Amadigi, Ulisse in Deidamia, the title role in Ariodante, and Ruggiero in Alcina.  She appeared as Cherubino with the Caramoor International Music Festival, as Adalgisa in Norma, Giulietta in Les contes d'Hoffmann and Hansel in Hansel und Gretel for the Palm Beach Opera.  With Michigan Opera Theatre she has performed Carmen and Meg Page in Falstaff, and she has performed in gala concerts in Paris at the Chatelet with Placido Domingo for Operalia 2003.  For this performance she was the recipient of the Culturarte Prize given by Guillermo Martinez.  She was subsequently heard in concert opposite Roberto Alagna in San Juan for the Culturarte foundation.  Ms. Aldrich has also sung the Pergolesi Stabat Mater in Rome for the Vatican's Festival di Pasqua, and El Amor Brujo in New York City with the Manhattan Virtuosi.  Other roles in her developing repertoire include Giovanna Seymour in Anna Bolena, Leonora in La Favorite and Romeo in I Capuleti ed I Montecchi.
