Lucia Aliberti, soprano
A dramatic soprano of vocal agility, Lucia Aliberti was awarded a diploma with special recognition from the Conservatory while still very young. She then completed her studies in Rome with Maestro Luigi Ricci and continued to study with Alfredo Kraus. She is considered one of the most complete artists of the new generation.Musician and composer, while studying singing, she was also studying the piano and other musical instruments (guitar, accordion, violin, mandolin). She has composed many pieces for piano, clarinet, flute and voice.
After winning the Spoleto and ENAL competitions, she began her artistic career as Amina in Bellinis "La Sonnambula" in Spoleto at the festival dei Due Mondi under the direction of Giancarlo Menotti und Raffaello de Banfield. She has given concerts in leading concert-houses of the world: Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg, KKL Lucerne, Concertgebow Amsterdam, Queen Elisabeth Hall London, Theatre Champs-Elysée in Paris, Auditorium Milano, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Philharmonie Berlin, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Herkulessaal Munich, Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Seoul Arts Center.
Her natural vocal talents are enhanced by a technique which allows her to sustain even the most difficult parts in the "Belcanto"-repertory.
International critics have also underlined her particular stage presence and dramatic capabilities. She is considered a specialist in the repertory of Bellini (Norma, La Sonnambula, Il Pirata, I Puritani, I Capuleti e I Montecchi, Beatrice di Tenda, La Straniera). She has also dedicated intense studies to some of his manuscripts.
