Sandhya Nagaraja, dancer
Sandhya Nagaraja studied ballet with teachers from La Scala. As far as contemporary dance is concerned she learned Graham and Cunningham techniques and approached Limòn technique and the Laban studies of movement analysis. She experienced modern jazz with David Parsons in New York. She took a diploma in dance theatre at the Paolo Grassi School of Arts in Milan, where she started making her own choreographies.
She worked, among others, with Cesc Gelabert, Susanne Linke, Avi Kaiser, Susanna Beltrami, Davide Montagna and Giovanni Di Cicco; she took part in various festivals such as Teatri90 in Milan, the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona, the MittelFest (Italy and Croatia), the 10th Biennal of young artists in Sarajevo, the Internationale Orgelkonzerte Konstanz and the Biennale Danza of Venice.
She is very much interested in exploring the dialectic link between sound and movement; she worked in “Die Zauberflote” with D. Abbado, “La Bohème” and a Mozart Pantomime with Francesco Micheli and “L'amore delle tre melarance” with Eleonora Moro. She danced  “Pulcinella” under the direction of F. Montemurro and “L'histoire du soldat”, “Le Carnival des animaux”, “Brundibar”, “The Sleeping Beauty” and “The Nutcracker”  under the direction of Damiano Michieletto for the “Crescendo in musica” with  the Orchestra Verdi.

She cooperated with several directors, visual artists and musicians. She teaches dance theatre and contemporary dance.
